Join us to build nests for small birds with the Friends of Akadimias Park! The only thing you need to do is bring your enthusiasm and your love for birds - all materials will be provided.
The aim is to place the nests at Akadimias Park in collaboration with the Forestry Department, but you are free to take yours home and place it in your own garden!
Attendance is free but there are only a limited number of places available. Please book early to avoid disappointment on 99137630. The workshop is suitable for children as well, but they must be accompanied by an adult.
Birds such as great tits, swifts and rollers need cavities, holes or eaves to nest and raise their families. Such spaces are far from abundant and putting up a nest box can be a great way for providing a home to these birds. Many bird species will readily take up nestboxes and building your own nestbox is a simple, fun and rewarding experience. We will be expecting you, then, on Sunday 2 February at 10am at the Park Cafe.
P.S.: With your participation you will receive a copy of BirdLife Cyprus' new bird guide (only available in Greek for the moment), which presents 63 birds of Cyprus, some of which possibly also found in your own garden!
