Rarely can a recognition have been as well-deserved.

Cyprus’s own one-man answer to environmental activism, Klitos Papastilianou, was recently named among ‘Politico’ magazine’s ‘Class of 2018’, joining the worldwide ranks of those most likely to ‘shape the world’ in the coming year.

BirdLife Cyprus has had the pleasure of working closely with Klitos over the past few years, on a number of fronts, and this high-profile recognition comes as no surprise.

Klitos is the embodiment of ‘edgy’, never-give-up action, determination and campaigning in the effort to right the many environmental wrongs we suffer in Cyprus.

The ‘Politico’ reference to ‘threats’ only goes about half-way to giving the true picture of what Klitos has had to face as a result of his tireless efforts.

BirdLife Cyprus congratulates Klitos for this hard-earned recognition and wishes him ‘may-the-force-be-with-you’ success going forward!
