They say that education and training never end and for this reason I am very happy to undertake the position of Ringing Officer at Birdlife Cyprus.

A year ago, I started my PhD in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Cyprus to study the patterns of endemism of breeding birds in Cyprus. I graduated from the Department of Biology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and then I finished my master’s degree in the Management and Conservation of Wildlife from the University of Reading.

My interest in birds started very early and this is why during my undergraduate studies I was involved in the study of the diet of Barn Owl in Cyprus. Later when I returned to Cyprus, I had the opportunity to work with and receive training by the late Alan Crabtree while at the same time I gained experience during fieldwork for my PhD.

I am very excited and I am looking forward to our cooperation with BirdLife Cyprus in order to contribute to the development of ringing activities in Cyprus and to improve my skills and knowledge.
