BirdLife Cyprus in collaboration with Kuşkor (Turkish Cypriot conservation organization) are organizing a camp addressed to teenagers from the two communities of Cyprus, with the aim of raising awareness on the birds of Cyprus and the importance of their habitats and their conservation. The event is also a peace-building activity and a welcome addition to a growing number of joint activities implemented between the two conservation organisations BirdLife Cyprus and KUŞKOR.

Camp activities include a bird ringing demonstration, discussions and birdwatching at various wetlands. Photos of a previous similar camp can be found here.

Participants must be between 14-18 years old and fluent in English.

Duration: 4 to 6 November 2022

Location: Step Out Cyprus campsite in Akanthou

Meeting point: Ledra Palace checkpoint to take the bus to the camp site

The camp is funded by the Youth Development Fund of the Ornithological Society in the Middle East, the Caucasus and Central Asia (OSME).
