The coastline of Pentakomo is at a critical turning point. Despite scientifically documented objections and an initial temporary suspension of the works, construction on the port has resumed.

The Administrative Court has scheduled the hearing for late August, recognising the urgency and importance of the case. The court’s decision will determine the future of one of the island’s last remaining natural coastlines, and the fate of the habitat of the rare Mediterranean Monk Seal in the area.

Now is the time for your voice to be heard.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be collecting video messages from people who care and want to express their objection to the construction of this port. We want to show that this coastline matters now and in the future – not only for the species it hosts, but for the communities connected to this landscape, the sea, and nature.  

Send us a short video telling us:

• Why does this coastline matter to you?
• What future do you want for it?
• Why do you believe this port should not be built here?

The messages we receive will be shared publicly through our social media channels. Be part of a strong, collective voice defending something we all share: our connection to nature and its protection, the right to enjoy and to live close to the sea, and the value of a landscape that belongs to both people and wildlife.

Duration: Maximum 25 seconds
Orientation: Preferably vertical, but horizontal also accepted
Languages: Cypriot Greek, Greek, or English

Content Tips 

Avoid negative language or verbal attacks. Focus on what you love, value, or want to protect. Speak clearly and naturally. Try to record in a quiet place so that your voice is heard clearly. No script is required, but you may use the suggested phrases below for inspiration: 

• “I want to see the Pentakomo coastline stay natural because…”
• “This place matters to me because…”
• “We don’t need this port because…”

Please include your name (and optionally your location or role). If you prefer your name not to be shown publicly, please make this clear in your message.
