About Wading Birds

Wading birds, also known as shorebirds, are species commonly found in wetlands, salt lakes, and coastal areas, where they feed on small invertebrates in shallow waters or mudflats. In Cyprus, these include species such as herons, egrets, stilts, plovers, sandpipers, and ibises. They are fascinating to observe for their elegant movements and their crucial role in wetland ecosystems.

We look forward to seeing your stunning images celebrating the beauty and diversity of Cyprus’ wading birds!
