Autumn is one of the most exciting times of year for birds in Cyprus! Thousands of migratory birds pass through the island on their remarkable journey south, using Cyprus as an important place to rest and refuel before continuing their migration.

Join us at Athalassa National Forest Park to celebrate autumn migration, discover the fascinating world of birds and enjoy a morning in nature, with activities for children and adults alike.

The event will take place at Athalassa National Forest Park, entering from the Latsia side, near Nicosia General Hospital.

A unique opportunity to see bird ringing up close and learn how this important scientific method helps us understand more about birds, their movements and their lives.

09:45 – 13:00 | Birdwatching at Athalassa Lake
Discover the birds of the lake and some of the migratory visitors that may be stopping over in Cyprus at this time of year.

09:45 – 13:00 | Scavenger Hunt in the forest
A fun nature exploration activity for children and families, with clues and challenges encouraging participants to discover the forest and its wildlife.

We will provide binoculars and telescopes to help everyone get the best possible views of our feathered visitors, as well as all the materials needed for the activities.
