Every year, the BirdLife Cyprus calendar celebrates the birds of Cyprus through the eyes of the people who photograph them. For 2027, we are turning our attention to a group of birds that may be small and often discreet, but are an important and fascinating part of the island’s birdlife: warblers

Warblers are a diverse group of mostly small songbirds, often associated with dense vegetation, scrub, reedbeds and woodland. Some species breed in Cyprus, others spend the winter here, while many more pass through the island during their long migratory journeys between Europe, Asia and Africa. They can sometimes be difficult to spot, but their calls, songs and constant movement often give away their presence.

This year’s calendar will showcase the Warblers of Cyprus, and we are inviting photographers to submit their best images taken on the island.

Whether it is a resident species, a breeding visitor or a migrant stopping in Cyprus during its journey, we would love to see your photographs.

Photos should be submitted in high resolution by 5 October 2026. They can be sent by email to info@birdlifecyprus.org.cy or shared with us through WeTransfer or Dropbox.

Photographers whose images are selected for the calendar will be fully credited and will receive a free copy of the 2027 BirdLife Cyprus Calendar.

Priority will be given to submissions from BirdLife Cyprus members. If you are not yet a member, you can join us and support our work for birds and nature in Cyprus, while also enjoying benefits such as free participation in our field trips.
