BirdLife Cyprus invites the public to a beach clean-up event at Lady’s Mile in Limassol, an area not only important to birds but also marine mammals, elasmobranchs and turtles. The clean-up will take place on Friday, 10 June, from 8:30am – 12:00pm. Gloves, plastic bags, masks, water and light lunch will be provided on the day.

Meeting point: Oceania Beach Bar, Lady’s Mile beach, Limassol.

For better event organization, please sign up for the event by Tuesday, 7 June at the link here.

The event is organized as part of the Cyprus Bycatch Project which is funded by the MAVA Foundation and aims at understanding and reducing the problem of by-catch (incidental catch of non-target species) of sensitive species in fishing gears, while examining parameters that could further affect the survival of these species after being caught and released.
