Through the ‘153 birds’ drawing competition BirdLife Cyprus received over 300 drawings as well as a lot of enthusiasm, interest and curiosity for the magical world of birds. This great response has exceeded our expectations and we would like to thank everyone who submitted a drawing and supported the campaign!
A committee comprised of members of the BirdLife Cyprus staff and Council have the difficult task of selecting three winners for the two competition categories: children and teens (up to 17 years old) and adults (over 18 years old).
We also want the public to take part in the selection of the winners, and so we created a third category, ‘People’s Choice’. We invite you to vote by liking the artworks you like best, here. You can share photos from this album, but for the selection of the winners only the likes on the photos of this album will count (not the likes on shared posts of the photos). The voting deadline is Wednesday 10 August 2016 at 1pm (Cyprus time). The lucky winners will be announced on Thursday 11 August 2016! A warm thank you to Get Out and Aperanti Agrotourism for their prizes!
As previously announced, to celebrate birds and the wonder of migration, BirdLife Cyprus is organising a photography and drawing exhibition. A selection of the submitted drawings will be presented, accompanied by a photograph and information on the species they depict. Mark your calendars: the opening will take place on Friday 14 October 2016 at Myloi Cultural Centre in Nicosia!
Funding for this project is from the Champions of the Flyway Bird Race, organized jointly by BirdLife International and SPNI (BirdLife in Israel).
