Key information: The Song Thrush visits Cyprus in the winter. It has a chestnut back and many black spots on the breast and belly. It is very hard to see as it is shy and usually hidden among the branches and foliage. It has a sweet, loud song with many repeated phrases. It likes feeding on snails by breaking their shell on rocks.
Length: 20 – 22 cm
Habitat: Farmland, scrub and bushes
When they can be seen: Winter
What they eat: Worms, snails, fruit
In Cyprus: Can be seen in farmland areas and in forests
Status: Winter visitor
