Key information: The Woodlark is a small, brown lark that can be found in Cyprus all year round. It breeds in the Troodos Mountains, but in the winter, it can also be seen at lower altitudes as more birds come to Cyprus during that period. It spends most of the time on the ground, but it can also be seen perched on trees, bushes or wires. It has a lovely song, consisting of sweet but melancholic notes.

Length: 13,5 – 15 cm

Habitat: Mountains and forests, farmland

When they can be seen: All year round

What they eat: Invertebrates, seeds

In Cyprus: Can be seen in forested areas, such as Troodos Mountains, as well as in farmland areas in the winter.

Status: Resident breeder, winter visitor
