Βασικές πληροφορίες: The Kentish Plover is a small wader that breeds in small numbers at Larnaka and Akrotiri Salt Lakes. It prefers walking or running to flying. It builds its nest on the ground and covers the eggs with sand when away. Some Kentish Plovers visit Cyprus during migration and some may even spend the winter here. Even though the two sexes look different, in the winter the male looks a lot like the female.
