Cape Greco is an area of stunning natural richness and beauty. Introducing its wonders to children and adults became the focal point of a collaboration between BirdLife Cyprus and Melissa Hekkers, the creator behind the popular mandala colouring book series. 

The result… A third mandala book in the series, ‘My Cape Greco Mandala’ Colouring Book. The book will be presented on Saturday 1st of December at Cape Greco and on Wednesday 5th of December in Nicosia.

‘My Cape Greco Mandala’ presents 11 mandala drawings, inspired by Cape Greco’s rich wildlife and hand-drawn by Melissa Hekkers. The book introduces its readers to some of the amazing birds, plants and mammals of the area, from the gorgeous Bee-eater with its vibrant plumage to the endangered Monk Seal, with its amazing diving abilities.

In the colouring book, readers can learn more about these 11 species and their relationship to Cape Greco and Cyprus. Each mandala is accompanied by characteristics and fascinating information about the species it represents. The objective of the book is to bring people closer to the natural beauty of our island, to raise awareness around our wildlife and to promote the importance of biodiversity and nature conservation in Cape Greco and beyond. Both children and adults will have the opportunity to learn more about the wildlife that surrounds us, through the relaxing and enjoyable process of colouring in.

‘My Cape Greco Mandala’ Colouring Book launch events

• Cape Greco: Saturday 1 December 2018 at 11:00-13:00 Cape Greco Environmental Education Centre. Please note: access to the Cape Greco Environmental Education Centre will be ONLY from the side of Grecian Park Hotel, and it will be controlled by police since the road will be closed due to a marathon race event. So we are kindly asking you to wait for as many cars as possible to gather on the main street near Grecian Park Hotel (after the round-about towards the environmental education centre there is a parking space on the left side of the road where you could wait). Then the police will allow you to enter the closed road, so you can join us for our event. Please follow the instructions of the police and the marathon organisers and drive with caution and respect towards the marathon runners.
